Privacy Policy
SayLoc uses information to provide nearby place discovery, account features, advertising and a reliable app experience.
Information we process
- Account information: account identifiers and email information supplied when you use Apple, Google or email/password sign-in. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are not stored by SayLoc in readable form.
- Optional country: if you choose to provide it, we store only the selected two-letter country code to understand aggregate product usage and improve SayLoc. It is not used for ad targeting.
- Location: your approximate or precise location after you grant permission, used to find and rank nearby places through Google Places. Your location is not sent to our AI provider.
- Search activity: the text of your search query (including voice speech converted to text), selected radius, result snapshots, favorites and recent searches.
- Voice input: speech is converted to text using device and operating-system speech services. SayLoc does not intentionally store raw audio recordings in your profile — only the resulting text is used as your search query.
- Credits and preferences: credit balance, language, notification setting and default search radius.
How we use information
We use this information to authenticate your account, interpret requests, find nearby businesses, calculate distance, display map results, summarize public business reviews, save favorites and history, prevent abuse, and improve reliability.
AI data sharing and your consent
To interpret your search text and to summarize public business reviews, SayLoc sends the text of your search (including any voice input already converted to text) to OpenAI, our third-party AI provider, solely to process that request. Your location and voice audio are not sent to OpenAI. We only send this data after you give explicit, informed consent in the in-app AI data-sharing prompt shown before your first AI-powered search; if you choose “Not Now,” no search text is sent and AI-powered search is unavailable until you allow it. You can review or change this choice at any time from Profile → AI data sharing in the app, including revoking a previously granted consent.
Service providers
SayLoc relies on service providers for authentication and storage (Supabase), place and map data (Google Places/Maps), AI-based request interpretation and review summarization (OpenAI), speech recognition (your device's operating system), subscription and purchase management (RevenueCat), app distribution and advertising. Information is shared only as needed to perform those functions and is subject to the providers’ own policies.
Purchases and credits
Credit packages and any subscriptions are purchased through the App Store and processed by Apple. Purchase validation and credit-balance management are handled with RevenueCat, which receives your app account identifier along with purchase, transaction and entitlement details needed to reliably grant credits — RevenueCat does not receive your search text, voice input or location. SayLoc does not process or store your payment card details.
Storage and security
Account-linked data is stored using access controls intended to keep each user’s data separate. Sensitive service credentials are kept in server environments rather than embedded in the mobile app. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
You may deny or revoke location, microphone, speech-recognition and notification permissions through iPhone Settings. Some app features will not work without the relevant permission. You may allow, revoke or review AI data-sharing consent at any time from Profile → AI data sharing in the app. You may request access to or deletion of account-linked data through SayLoc’s in-app Help & Feedback section or by emailing skyfeedtechnical@gmail.com, or delete your account directly at any time — see how to delete your account.
Data sale and advertising
SayLoc does not sell personal information. SayLoc uses Google Mobile Ads to show interstitial advertising. The advertising SDK may automatically process or share IP address (which can indicate general location), app and ad interactions, diagnostic information, and device or account identifiers for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention. Where required, SayLoc asks for consent before requesting ads; personalized advertising and tracking are subject to your consent and device settings. You can change applicable privacy choices through the consent controls made available in the app or your device settings.
Children
SayLoc is not directed to children under the minimum digital-consent age applicable in their country.
Changes
We may update this policy as SayLoc evolves. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when material changes are published.
